PLAYER PROFILES
ARTHUR FORESTER
Arthur Forester was born in 1925. He made his first acting appearance in George Bernard Shaw's 'Arms and the Man' in 1951. A succession of performances followed in 'An Inspector Calls; (1952), 'Madam Tic-Tac' (1953), 'Pygmalion and Galatea' (1954), 'To Dorothy, A Son' (1954), 'Point of Departure' (1954), 'The Pomp of Mr. Pomfret' (1955) and 'Ann Veronica' (1956).

During the 1950s, he also directed a number of Rep productions which included 'Heaven and Charing Cross' (1955), 'Escapade' (1956) and 'The Living Room' (1957).
​
Arthur also served as Chairman of The Repertory Players in its Jubilee Season (1970-71).
​
His final performance at Beresford Street was as John Smith in 'Breaking The Code' in 1992.
Arthur passed away in 2001, but he did attend the Gala Night of the opening of the new Repertory Theatre on Leek Road in 1997.
